Grateful for a VP co-worker looking out for my best interest at work. It is rewarding to work with people that genuinely value my efforts and skills. Got my new pot rack installed in the kitchen. Enjoyed a bit of social time with some co-workers for a happy hour tonight. Opportunity to work on some business projections with THE big dog at work too. Kinda fun.
Another brief run in this morning. Had a presentation at work that went reasonably well. Eye exam went well, no changes from last year. Always nice to visit with Dr. Rick. Got a bit more work done in the studio this evening as well.
Grateful for a productive evening! Worked late, got in a nice walk afterwards, smoke detector installed, two sink-loads of dishes done, two more boxes of kitchen stuff unpacked and a movie while enjoying real buttered popcorn.
Wow, got a brief run in this evening! First time in months. Also a bit of QT with The Fam and a short session in the studio.

Fun brunch with The Girls. Kitchen cabinet lining finished. Got the living room in its new arrangement. Need to put up “C+” (The Leaf Print), curtains, and some other pictures yet, but very pleased with how it turned out. My favorite room in the house.

Also got in crappy meal at Great Dane Hilldale and saw Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy at Sundance. Excellent movie. Great cast. Gary Oldman (one of my favs) was awesome.
Grateful for Dean Day! Got up, had breakfast and went back to bed until nearly noon. Spent the afternoon on the couch and getting some minor stuff done around the house. Enjoyed watching Beginners. Touching movie that resonated with me on a number of levels.
Really enjoyed the Blue Man Group at Overture this evening. I love creative performance. I could totally see myself being a Blue Man performer. What fun that must be!
Did dinner with friends at The Fountain beforehand. Decent meal, but didn’t enjoy it as much as last time. We really wanted dessert after the show and that turned out to be a complete ordeal. Decided to walk around the Square to Graze. It had gotten pretty cold and windy by then and we were not well-dressed for the elements. Apparently it was Restaurant Week in Madison so they were only serving all three courses. After a fair bit of debate, we then opted for Brocach for bread pudding, Bailey’s cheesecake and hot drinks. Brocach was out of both desserts – another casualty of Restaurant Week. None of the remaining selections was appealing. I ran back to get the car and the others started on foot for Sardine. Sardine was out of their best dessert, the Lemon meringue tart. We settled for Gianduja Crunch which is a chocolate hazelnut ganache. It was ok. Thankfully I got to have one of their amazing Tom & Jerry’s which pretty much made up for all the dessert hassle.
Oh, how I miss Cocoliquot.
Had a great time at tonight’s High Tech Happy Hour. Have been putting off real networking for far too long (almost 5 years). Re-acquainted myself with some past contacts and met some fun new folks as well.
Very productive night in the studio tonight even though we did no actual recording. Norm and I reaffirmed our goals and refined our strategies. I really needed to refocus and figure out the most effective ways to maximize our studio time while continuing to enjoy ourselves.
It wasn’t much, but it was really nice to put together a little scrambled eggs and fried potatoes for breakfast this morning on the stove. I’d grown pretty tired of microwave-poached eggs.
