Grateful for a quiet and productive evening at home and for being able to catch up with some friends. Also ecstatic to discover Jenifer St Market carries Cock ‘n Bull Ginger Beer – it makes the best Moscow Mules.
GRATEFUL TO BE BACK ON MY BIKE!
Admittedly, I have become more of a ‘fair-weather’ biker. The upside of course is that my enjoyment factor has increased even more. Needless to say, my excitement was pretty high to get out on my first ‘real’ ride of the season. Norm and I got in an hour. Weather was great and I didn’t even mind the stiff breeze on the way out. We even did ‘Ag Hill’ once near the end. Felt great. Al came over to help on the house earlier in the day and we got some prep work done for the tub/shower surround. Wonderful salmon dinner on a friend’s deck this evening and enjoyed watching Ides of March. ‘Enjoyed’ may be a bit of a misnomer. Great film, demoralizing topic.
Oh an, three straight weeks of Don’t Break the Chain!
Grateful for great friends. Couple of buddies came over today and helped with the house. We got nearly all of the demolition done on the two bedrooms and master bath. Even got to enjoy some beverages in my driveway afterwards with some unseasonably warm March weather. As I was cleaning up for the day, a woman who owned my house nearly ten years ago stopped by and mentioned she drives by a lot. It was her first house and she is still quite fond of it. Said she drives by a lot an hopes I don’t get freaked out. Wound down the day with a couple episodes of Portlandia that Heather got me into. Quirky, fun stuff.
Grateful for new learning experiences. Tried a tango class this evening. I’ve never been to a dance class before and definitely don’t consider myself a dancer. It was challenging, sometimes uncomfortable, and mostly fun. Will try it again. Dinner at Blue Moon afterwards.

Tulips breaking through in the flower bed - will be interesting to see what else is in there.
Fun hanging out with Norm working on the house. Did some electrical prep work for the weekend, reviewed plans, and plotted out the new walk-in-closet wall and door into the master bath.
Grateful to have sold another item on eBay (bike seat) and for a productive LLTAM recording session with Norm. Also glad I got my walk in over lunch at work. Lot’s of needed rain this evening.
Enjoyed the fantastic weather during a walk over lunch at work. Grateful for fun, celebrating a friend’s birthday at the Great Dane after work. And for Culver’s Double Oreo.
Great sunset during my neighborhood walk this evening. Got my wireless network working again and a bit more demolition and clean up in my main bath. Watched another episode of Spectacle. This one featured Smokey Robinson. Not only has he had a fascinating career as a songwriter, producer, and label executive, the man still has an amazing voice; he’s now in his 70’s. He did a stellar cover of Don’t Know Why (the song made ‘famous’ by Norah Jones) on the show. His version was much closer to its original jazz roots and just blew me away.
Grateful for an excellent brunch and discussion with friends at The Ranch. We listened to an archived sermon from the brilliant Michael Schuler about Ayn Rand and Objectivism. Afterwards, we hit the Wii for some frivolity with the GDFB’s and then headed home for a nap.
