I am grateful for the anticipation created by a new release from one of my favorite artists and having that new release actually exceed my already astronomically high musical expectations.
I am grateful for the first day of Spring yard work on a gorgeous breezy day.
There are several small ponds near my house and one of the things I love most about Spring are the evening chorus of peepers. The Spring Peeper (Pseudacris crucifer) is a small chorus frog widespread throughout the eastern USA and Canada.
Here’s a little over a minute’s worth of sound clip I recorded this evening. It’s interesting to try and isolate individual frogs. Their chorus is amazingly soothing and mesmerizing for me as I fade off to sleep.
I was surprised at how tiny they were, compared to how amazingly loud they are. The ones I saw with the light were about 3/4″ long. You could see their bulging throats vibrate as they were peeping. Didn’t have enough light to get video but I was lucky enough to get a couple of grainy pics with the flash.
I am grateful for spontaneous casual and hilarious sushi lunches in deserted restaurants followed by leisurely trips to the grocery store imagining all sorts of culinary possibilities.
I am grateful for an evening with absolutely no agenda or obligations and to be able to enjoy a couple movies by myself.
I am grateful for offers from friends for me to crash temporarily at their place while I’m feeling ill and can’t go home because there are multiple showings going on at my house.
I am grateful that the executive clients I work for have placed a tremendous amount of confidence in my abilities to manage a complex initiative involving an external consultant in a very short time-frame.
I am grateful that the recent political events in Wisconsin have re-engaged a good portion of the electorate contributing to near record-breaking turnout for a Spring election. It’s good to see people paying attention in a democracy.
I am grateful for spending time with friends that have no expectations of me and recognize that I am not yet ready for expectations.
